News item Sunderland Echo, 25/3/41, p 3: 'Death of Mr F Robson. Mr Frederick Robson, who started a football career with Barnes Boys' School team, has died at St Luke's Hospital, Bradford at the age of 30. Mr Robson, who was married, has for the past three years been living in his home town, at 32 Cromwell, Street, Millfield. It was while playing for Barnes in 1925 that Mr Robson was capped twice as an English schoolboy international. After schooldays he went to Scotland and played for amateur teams before becoming professional. Dunfermline Athletic and Raith Rovers were among the clubs for which he played. Giving up football three years ago, he returned to take up work in Sunderland. About a year ago he joined the Durham Light Infantry and it was while carrying out his duties that he was taken ill last December. He leaves a widow and one son.'

The Army number batch allocation to 14 DLI in July 1940 seem to end around this point, with the next block of numbers, as evidenced below, being allocated to the new 16th DLI Battalion.

Captured Sedjenane 2/3/42. held at camps PG 66 and PG 53. PG 66 on War Office list, which dates it as between 4/43 and 7/43.
