Photograph Hartlepool Mail, 9/10/43, p 3: 'Reported Missing. Mrs Constance E Kelly, of 28 Wordsworth Avenue, West Hartlepool, has been officially informed that her second son, L/Cpl Peter Kelly, DLI, is reported missing while serving in the Central Mediterranean. Aged 23, L/Cpl Kelly has been in the Army since 1940 and served in North Africa for a year. He is an old boy of St Cuthbert's School and before joining up was employed by the Expanded Metal Co. He has two brothers serving in the Navy and another brother is on the RNR list after serving for three years. His father, who served in the last war, died eight years ago.'
